Join the Eastern Apicultural Society for the annual Short Course (Aug. 13-15) and Conference (Aug. 15-17) which offers a week-long opportunity to hear from internationally known research scientists, extension apiculturists, apiary inspectors and beekeeping experts at every level.
EAS begins with the two-day short course including beginner and intermediate tracks. Additional specialty tracks on Electronic Colony Monitoring, Bees as Business, Queen Rearing with the Russian Honey Bee Breeders Association and Excellence in Honey and Hive Products are offered. The main EAS conference features keynote speakers in large plenary sessions and afternoon workshops across six tracks plus apiary sessions. EAS 2018 offers something for everyone from beginners to experienced beekeepers both in classroom sessions and in the apiary!
The nearly 70 speakers and their bios can be viewed on the EAS 2018 web page along with the full Short Course and Conference Schedules, information about the Honey Show, and a description of special events!
Special Events are planned every day including a local Brewery tour, a chartered Harbor Cruise, an evening Movie, the Beach Bash Barbeque, and EAS’s famous award banquet dinners plus silent and live auctions! A side trip to Jamestown is available for those who want to explore our country’s historical beginnings and visit the area where honey bees were first introduced to North America.
