Recently we were contacted by a student at the University of Louisville. Haileigh Arnold is working on her Masters degree and is doing research on the environmental and social factors that affect honey bee distribution and production the most.
As part of her thesis research, she is looking for beekeepers in Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Bullitt Counties who are willing to fill out two quick surveys. The surveys ask about the flow seasons in 2016 and 2017. To participate, please read the consent letter and then fill out the 2016 survey and the 2017 survey. Reading the consent letter is a required before taking the surveys and provides a little more information about the project.
There are a couple of questions in the survey that ask for addresses. Haileigh says, “For those answers I would prefer an exact address but the member does not have to provide it. If uncomfortable with giving out an exact address, their answer can be a subdivision name, closest cross street (ex. near where Shelby St meets Baxter Ave), or between house numbers (ex.300-400 South Indian trail).”
Haileigh anticipates completing her thesis and graduating in the spring and has promised to share her results with us when she completes her research.
