Upcoming Beekeeping Emergency Response Workshop

Announcement & registration for upcoming Beekeeping Emergency Response Workshop. To be held on October 17, 2015, from 8:30am – 4:00pm, at the KY State University Agriculture farm on Mills Lane outside Frankfort. (South of Frankfort, off U.S. 127 – directions below).

See DRAFT of  agenda

There will be a $50 registration fee, Bee Emergency registration form.

This workshop is designed for emergency responders to have an opportunity to learn basics about the migratory bee industry, how to effectively control overturned bee truck situations, aggressive bee hives, non-honey bee emergencies and buy basic equipment.

Beekeepers are welcome to attend as well…after all, beekeepers tend to be called in emergency situations.

This workshop will be a good opportunity for Emergency Responders and Beekeepers to meet and exchange information such as call lists and discuss swarm control plans.
